When submitting text and photos for the website, please take the following into account:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Submit plain text<\/strong> only, fancy formatting will be ignored, as the website theme<\/em> controls the look of our pages. Word documents are OK, but don’t worry about formatting, as it will be largely ignored<\/li>
  2. <\/li>
  3. We use pictures extensively on the site, they should be high quality, large format (at least 1024 pixels for the larger side) – please don’t submit compressed, tiny pictures, because they won’t look good<\/li>
  4. Pictures should never<\/strong> be embedded in a document – they can’t be extracted and transferred to the site. Pictures must be in separate files<\/strong>, so that they can be uploaded to the site. Please use our Google Photos album when you have more than one picture: https:\/\/photos.app.goo.gl\/jk6H5KvFpimzdJmM8<\/a><\/li>
  5. Acceptable picture format<\/strong>s: .jpg, .jpeg, .png – if in doubt, check with us<\/li>
  6. PDF documents are not a good idea<\/strong>: our website design allows for great control over post layouts and placement of pictures, without having recourse to unwieldy PDFs. It’s a fallacy to think that it’s possible to control the appearance of a post, as it must be resizable (or responsive<\/em>) to adapt to the variety of devices our visitors use. We must take into account the fact that a sizeable proportion of our visitors access our site through tablets<\/strong> and smartphones<\/strong>, which cannot deal with pages with a fixed size, designed to be read only on large screens.<\/strong> Our website is designed to reflow and resize, to adapt to devices of any size. PDFs are only acceptable for official documents, e.g. accounts, legal documents like statutes, but never<\/em> for normal posts.
