Wines from Spain and South America

Peter Atkinson gave an interesting presentation to fellow members of WAGs (Wine Appreciation Group) giving them a taste of four wines – a white and red from Spain and two reds from Argentina and Chile – at the latest meeting at La Cocina restaurant in Javea Port. As expected from our former History Group leader and an eloquent speaker, Peter’s talk was a mixture of well-researched detail and a little humour. Peter reminded members – as if they didn’t already know! – of the quality of wines from Spain, which, along with France and Italy, is one of the three biggest wine producers in the world. Argentina is the fifth biggest wine producer and Chile the sixth. Members clearly enjoyed the talk as well as the wine and lunch. Well done to group leaders Trevor and Sally Rush for organising yet another successful gathering.
