Forty members of Javea U3A’s Wine Appreciation Group (WAGs) were treated to a presentation on the “C Word” by group leader Trevor Rush at their latest lunch in La Cocina restaurant in the port.
Trevor said he was fed up with all the “B Word” talk surrounding Brexit that he had decided to move on in the alphabet – so the “C Word” would focus on Climate Change and its effects on the growing of grapes in the wine industry. And it proved to be both interesting and informative.
Members sampled four wines – two white and two red: Bles Blanco (€4.90), Aldeya Chardonay (€4.89), The Impostor Garnacha (€6.75) and Soplo Garnacha (€4.90), which went down well with an excellent meal provided by the staff at La Cocina.
