A couple of weeks ago I met the President of Orpington U3A. William and his wife Pauline were here in Javea for a few days and thought it would be interesting to see how our U3A operates.
Although the two associations are similar in size and group structure, we have the better spread of volunteers to enable the smooth running of the groups, events, meetings, etc. etc. They were very interested in the ‘Extravaganza’ and thought it might be replicated back in Orpington.
In the UK £3.50 of each member’s fee goes to the central body of the U3A.
William doesn’t drink so we toasted our associations in Radler and Pauline took the photo.
It has taken me a week to make the photo small enough to go on the website.
