The latest WAGs (Wine Appreciation Group) meeting featured a range of wines from the wine region of Toro in Castilla y Leon in north-western Spain, close to the Portuguese border. Member Mike Pinfield gave an interesting presentation – and even managed to find a white wine from what is a predominantly red wine appellation! Members also tasted four reds, which were all greeted with the usual enthusiasm. Thanks to group leaders Trevor and Sally Rush for organising yet another successful get-together – and to the staff at La Cocina restaurant in the Port, who once again served up an excellent meal.
