The final Travellers’ Tales presentation before the summer break was something different from the usual and perhaps not on the bucket list of holidays for most of the members present! Ron Skinner gave an excellent talk on “The High Road to China”, telling the audience about the journey he and his friends made along the Karakoram Highway from Islamabad to Kashgar in 2004. Ron described the route, across rugged terrain from Pakistan to Kyrgystan, as “the backdoor to China”. Fortunately they all survived both the journey and the food cooked for them en route!
Ron was warmly applauded by the audience and presented with a bottle of wine by the group leaders, Angela & Tony.
