Meet the new Javea U3A Walking Group – Elite Division! These six intrepid travellers – from left, groups coordinator David Whybrow, Lorraine Allin, Helen Whybrow, vice-president Peter Allin, deputy secretary Jacqui Rogerson and husband Ian, communications officer – took part in the famous Silvretta Ferwall Marsch, a marathon hike in the mountains of the central Alps in Austria. And they came home with one gold medal (Jacqui for achieving the marathon distance climbing to an altitude of 2,700m) and five silvers for the others, who completed the half-marathon.
