Life of an artist and cross-dresser

The History Group was entertained by speaker John Hopwood, who gave an informative talk at Casa de Cultura in Javea old town on a fascinating living artist called Grayson Perry.

Although not strictly a history item, it was an eye-opener on a complicated life of a cross-dresser who is strictly a heterosexual being.

After a woeful childhood, Grayson is happily married with a grown up daughter. His art is in demand all over the world and he is seen as one of the best artists that Britain has produced – ever. John was thanked for his talk by History Group leader Cheda Panajotovic.
