Important Information for Members and Group Leaders

Advice about restarting group activities

The Committee met on Monday 15 June to discuss (amongst other things) how activities can be re-started now that the Valencian Comunitat has moved to Phase 3 of the Covid-19 de-escalation plan, which allows groups of people to meet in various social settings.

In particular we discussed the question of who would be responsible for ensuring the safety of members undertaking group activities that required handling U3A equipment such as cards, dominoes and the like.

We decided that Group Leaders will be responsible for ensuring safety for their group and must adhere to all government guidelines in respect of social distancing and sanitising of hands and shared equipment.

The U3A Jávea cannot accept any responsibility for individuals taking part in group activities and expect Group Leaders to ensure compliance with all regulations in force at any given time.

If you are unsure of what is required please let me know before you recommence your group activity.

It will of course be the responsibility of the venue for any particular group about whether the group can attend or not and how things are set up. The Group Leader must ensure that the requirements of the venue are meticulously adhered to.
