Cheda Panajotovic, the new leader of the History group spoke about the two Brunels, the father Marc Isambard and Isambard Kingdom, the son.
Cheda spoke about the Brunels – both engineers, whose lives coincided with a period of great industrial development, when no challenge seemed too big to attempt: from the father’s block making machinery, to the son’s bridges, railway lines, tunnels and railway stations.
The lecture was well attended and enjoyed by the members in the audience.
