It was standing room only at the U3A’s latest monthly general meeting at the Parador! The big attraction was our own Angela Chantry, who gave an enlightening talk on A Journey Through the Fascinating History of the ‘Royal Town’ of Xabia/Javea. She traced the town’s history from the Palaeolithic time (30,000-10,000BC) through the Roman period (300BC-400AD) to present times, explaining how Phillip III granted ‘Xabea’ the status of “Royal Town” with its own coat of arms in 1612. Fascinating stuff indeed!
