Apart from January, July. August, and December, the U3A Jávea holds a General Meeting of all members every month. These are currently held in the Sala Cabo La Nao, Parador Hotel, Jávea on the last Wednesday of the month. Check the calendar here for exact dates.
The Meeting is in two parts, between 9:30 and 10:50 members can socialise with each other, meet the Committee and Group Leaders, as well as visit the desks for Travel, Membership, Book Swap, DVD Swap and others.
The Membership Desks, for joining or renewing, are open from 09:30 – 10:30 only. All other desks will close at 10:50.
The formal part of the meeting which has an Agenda published the week before on this website, starts promptly at 11:00 and lasts for about 1 hour. There are brief reports from the President and other Executive Committee members.
This is normally followed by a presentation by a guest speaker as advertised in the email invitation sent by the Communications Officer.
All U3A Jávea members are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please note that these meetings are restricted to members only.
If any member requires an item to be included on the Agenda, please send details to the Secretary at secretary@u3ajavea.com. Items for inclusion must be received at least two weeks before the meeting.
Open Meeting – January
In January we hold an Open Meeting from 9.30 to 12.00 to allow members to renew their Membership and for members of the public to find out about the U3A Jávea and join. There will be a number of tables manned by volunteers to collect subscriptions and hand out membership cards.
In addition, in the Sala Cabo La Nao, there will be Group tables, displaying information about many of U3A Jávea groups. This is an opportunity for members and non-members to talk to Group Leaders and learn about activities in U3A Jávea.
