However, our conversation will likely go beyond just individual values—it will also touch on the values shaping Western societies.\n\n\n\nDo we truly know ourselves? Do we take the time to reflect on the values we hold? And what role, if any, does science play in all of this?\n\n\n\nMany believe that science will never provide answers to life’s most profound questions:\n\n\n\n\nWhat is worth living for?\n\n\n\nWhat is worth dying for?\n\n\n\nWhat makes a good life?\n\n\n\n\nYet, some philosophers, neuroscientists, and researchers argue that values are not just abstract ideas but actual facts—facts about the well-being of conscious beings. If that’s the case, then there are indeed right and wrong ways to navigate this space.\n\n\n\nDo core values like honesty, integrity, gratitude, compassion, or love still resonate with us? If not, why? Have they been replaced by something else? If so, by what?\n\n\n\nIt could also be fascinating to compare these values with those found further East, beyond Europe and in Asian societies. However, we often lack deeper insights into these cultures—perhaps because we haven’t taken the time to explore them fully.\n\n\n\nThis discussion promises to be thought-provoking, challenging us to reflect on where we stand and where society is heading.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
